What is #HindooHistory?

Welcome to the #HindooHistory Substack! The purpose of the Hindoo History project is to unearth the untold story of the “Hindoo” in America via archival newspaper clips. The clips you’ll see here and on the Hindoo History Twitter and Instagram accounts (@HindooHistory) are retrieved from the Library of Congress Digital Newspaper Archive, collected as a part of the Chronicling America project. If you want to know more about the methodology of the project, please read the introductory post.

Currently this newsletter is free, so please subscribe and share with your family and friends! Digging into the archives and sharing these newspaper clips is a labor of love, and right now my goal is just to reach as many people as possible. Feedback is always appreciated, so if you have any questions or suggestions, please do reach out at hindoohistory@gmail.com (you can also DM me on Twitter, where I am quite active).

Thanks for reading! And welcome to #HindooHistory.
